About the film
Border Hopper is a commentary on the absurdity of the US immigration bureaucracy blending magic realism and horror.
I wrote 'Border Hopper' as a means of processing the most stressful experience of my career: being stuck in the limbo of my green card processing, I had to make the call between preserving my immigration status or taking a life changing job that shot abroad.
In the film, I use all of my filmmaking experience to immerse the audience in the stress and surreal absurdity of the US immigration bureaucracy using my signature blend of live action, animation and VFX.
Border Hopper premiered in the U.S. Competition of the Sundance Film Festival 2024.
